The Reason I Created Becoming Unshaken

There were seasons of my life where I felt forgotten.
Where shame echoed louder than grace, and the pain of the past tried to hold me hostage.

I was born into complication—navigating life with a fractured sense of belonging. Like many, I searched for love in broken places and validation in the wrong hands. And like too many others, I carried the weight of choices I made while trying to survive emotional emptiness.

I spent years trying to outrun pain with productivity.
Trying to fill voids with relationships.
Trying to prove I was worthy of love by performing perfection.

But none of it lasted.
And none of it healed.

Eventually, I reached the end of me—and that’s where God met me.

I had to rebuild, not from applause, but from obedience. Not for approval, but from identity. And through years of heartbreak, redemption, spiritual growth, and soul-deep healing, something in me began to rise again.

That something became a mission.
That mission became Becoming Unshaken.

This platform was created for people like you—those who’ve lived through trials but never gave up. For the women and men who still believe that transformation is real, even if it’s slow. That healing is sacred, and that God’s grace is big enough to cover all our yesterdays.

Here, we don’t deny the struggle—we honor it.
We speak on mental wellness, identity, spiritual growth, and living with intention.
We grow in community, and we hold space for the process of becoming.

So whether you’re crawling through grief or standing tall in purpose—this is your reminder:

You can still become whole.
You can still be seen.
You can still be unshaken.

With grace,
April M. Burgess
